Meet Levent, The Man Behind the Camera

Throughout many stages of my life, I’ve attended countless weddings—as a friend, as an older brother, as a cousin and lately even as a groom. As those special days drew closer, I couldn’t help but wonder how those precious moments would be captured. On such a unique day, when everyone has different expectations and there are no second chances, capturing those once-in-a-lifetime moments felt truly invaluable.

For a long time, I hesitated to become a wedding photographer. What if I missed those moments? What if I couldn’t understand what the couple wanted? What if I couldn’t get the lighting right or my camera didn’t perform as expected? So many questions held me back.

Then, one day, I received an email from a couple who wanted me to photograph their wedding. I was surprised because I didn’t even have any wedding photos in my portfolio at the time. In fact, I didn’t even meet the couple before the wedding day. When we finally met on their big day, I can’t describe in a single word how I felt during that shoot. I could see the happiness in their eyes, and my stomach was filled with butterflies.

That’s when I realized this was an eternal journey—almost as if the love between couples was calling me to make it immortal. The excitement I felt while capturing their love swept away all my worries. And the conversations I shared with these couples, who became my friends, and their families, were beyond words. Witnessing their families grow over time and being invited to capture other special moments in their lives felt like the most rewarding gift.

“And that’s how Journey of Ordinary was born, growing day by day with love—just like the magical couples and families I get to photograph.”

More Than a Photoshoot, a Connection

I know how hard new beginnings can be. As an immigrant, I’ve had to start over from scratch a few times. Of course, not every starting point has been easy or fun. The stressful, emotional, or even joyous moments I’ve experienced are all parts of who I am today. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to never lose my big smile, even in the toughest situations. And I believe that even in your most stressful or shy moments, having a smiling friend who looks you in the eye with warmth can make all the difference.

I always say one thing: after our first meeting, your shoot won’t just be a photo session—it will feel like catching up with an old friend
